Wow! Last year brought many
honors my way. My 2007 CD release “The Legend Of The Quetzal – Tales &
Tunes of Latin America” received a Parents” Choice Silver Honor Award. The song “River Of Life was nominated
for the New Thought Songwriters Tribute Awards and made it to the semifinal
round. “From the Mother – Songs Of The Sacred Feminine” was the number two folk
album and the number three world album on the 2007 WomensRadio Music Review
Awards. And Tres Lunas Trio, a wonderful instrumental group here in Central
Texas included my song “Luna Luna” on their new CD release “Of Her Hand”. You
can listen to their version at www.treslunastrio.com.
But the greatest honor and
reward I can receive is the knowledge that I have helped to bring joy and
meaning to the lives of others. And I get to do that while doing something I
love. I’d like to thank all of you who have ever listened to a song, come to a
show, hired me to come and tell stories at your school or library or museum, or
bought a CD. You help make it possible for me to share what I love doing.
Another purveyor of joy, my
friend the multi-talented Marienne Kreitlow has a new CD out called “Beautiful
Illusion”. Marienne is one of the most creative people I know and a fabulous
songwriter. Check her out at www.marienne.com.
I wish you peace, joy and
the opportunity to share what you love in the coming year.
Best wishes,
Sue Young
